“One of the biggest reasons why I left Chelsea was because of him. He is a very smart player. Intelligent. A good passer of the ball,” Cesc Fabregas said of Jorginho to BBC Sport.
“The only thing that sometimes I could say about him is that he releases the ball too quickly when you can play it forward. You can see that he makes the team tick.”
Cesc also tweeted out later: “Yes, Jorginho has [improved]. Very important players for both Chelsea and Italy. He’s at the best age.”
Fabregas was at Chelsea for just over 4 seasons, making 198 appearances for the Blues and winning 2 Premier League titles alongside one FA Cup.
Although we have to admit that Jorginho is not as good as Cesc was at his peak, the midfielder is certainly a force to be reckoned with – his recent performance for Italy shows you how good he can be.
And, of course, this sort of praise coming from Fabregas must be huge for the Italian, who joined the Blues the year Fabregas left (2018/19 season).
