Alabama’s Nate Oats Gushes Over Intense Win Over No. 1 Auburn

There is so much to celebrate for the Alabama Crimson Tide before they head into the tough challenges of March Madness and the SEC Tournament. They beat out the No. 1 Auburn Tigers and have also decimated other top-ranked opponents.

Notably, Alabama also endured losses to the Missouri Tigers, Florida Gators, and Tennessee Volunteers which made their season ender against Auburn way more cathartic. Coach Nate Oats outlined how that final game was a test of resilience for him and the Alabama basketball squad.

“The way we lost to Tennessee, it would have been easy to fold… To lose two in a row and to lose on our senior night and then to be able to gather themselves together and go to Auburn. That was an Auburn team that was really trying to get that win,” he declared.

Alabama’s last seven opponents were ranked in the Top 25 AP Poll. So, every single game that they had was a battle to improve their ranking for both the SEC Tournament and March Madness. It was just gut-wrenching that they could not finish these last three games strong enough to give their players a proper send-off in Tuscaloosa.

Nonetheless, the best gift that these Alabama seniors can give is an SEC Tournament championship and a national title. With all the confidence and resilience that Coach Oats has taught this team, those two goals may not be far off.
