Arsenal are reportedly considering a January move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Lee Kang-in, who could be available for £40 million. According to The Athletic, the Gunners are open to exploring a loan deal with an option to buy if PSG are willing to negotiate.
The 23-year-old South Korean international has been a regular under PSG head coach Luis Enrique, contributing six goals in 16 Ligue 1 appearances this season. Despite his consistent game time and versatility across the front three and midfield, Lee is reportedly open to a new challenge.
Arsenal have monitored Lee closely, but his current price tag appears prohibitive. A loan deal with a purchase option could make the move more feasible for the Gunners. Lee is a key player for PSG, both for his on-field performances and his commercial impact, particularly in the Asian market.
PSG are not actively looking to sell but are said to value Lee at double the €22 million they paid to sign him from Mallorca in 2023.
The report reads: “One name under discussion could be Paris Saint-Germain’s South Korean forward Lee Kang-in. The 23-year-old is considering his options at PSG despite playing regularly under Luis Enrique. He is open to a new challenge.
“PSG are not actively looking to sell and they value and rate Lee highly both on and off the pitch — he has a big impact for them in the Asian market. Any deal would need to be at least double the €22million they paid to sign him from Mallorca in 2023.”
Arsenal are keen to strengthen their attacking options as they chase Liverpool in the Premier League title race. The Gunners are also linked with Lee’s PSG teammate, Randal Kolo Muani, who could be available on loan after reportedly being deemed surplus to requirements by Luis Enrique.
Both players would provide additional depth and flexibility to Arsenal’s front line, enhancing their chances in the title race and other competitions.
