The Auburn Tigers men’s basketball team has made a significant addition to their 2025–26 roster with the commitment of Serbian forward Filip Jović. Standing 6 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 225 pounds, Jović brings a blend of size, skill, and international experience to Bruce Pearl’s squad. His arrival marks a strategic move to bolster Auburn’s frontcourt depth and add a physical presence in the paint.

Jović’s basketball journey began in his native Serbia, where he honed his skills before making a notable impact in the Adriatic Basketball Association (ABA) with KK Mega Superbet. During the 2024–25 season, he averaged 12.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, shooting 63.4% from two-point range. His performance was highlighted by a standout game against Poland in the 2024 U20 European Championship, where he scored 27 points, showcasing his scoring ability and efficiency

Internationally, Jović has represented Serbia at various youth levels. In the 2024 U20 European Championship, he averaged 14.8 points and 3 rebounds per game, demonstrating his scoring prowess and versatility. His experience on the international stage has prepared him for the challenges of NCAA basketball, where his physicality and skill set are expected to make an immediate impact.

Auburn’s 2025–26 roster is shaping up to be a blend of seasoned veterans and promising newcomers. Returning players like Denver Jones, who was named a semifinalist for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Award, and Keyshawn Hall, a second-team All-Big 12 honoree, provide leadership and experience. The addition of Jović adds a new dimension to the team’s frontcourt, offering a physical presence and scoring ability that complements the skills of returning players.

With the infusion of international talent like Jović, Auburn continues to strengthen its position in the Southeastern Conference, aiming for a successful 2025–26 season. His commitment underscores the program’s commitment to building a competitive and dynamic team capable of contending at the highest levels of college basketball.
