Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs hope to snatch the top offensive recruit from important SEC opponents after a crucial visit.
Kirby Smart and his Georgia Bulldogs staff know how important it is to recruit top talent. Every single year Coach Smart makes sure that he brings in one of the best classes of incoming freshman in the country and he’s at it again, but this time he’s looking two full years ahead.
Regardless who the quarterback is in the near future they’re going to need to be protected and that’s exactly what Kirby Smart is hoping to do by offering one of the most important recruits of the 2027 recruiting cycle.
Maxwell Hiller, Five Star OT Recruit
As soon as he debuted on the top recruiting sites Maxwell Hiller was an immediate five star talent. At 6’5″, 300 pounds, just a sophomore in high school, Hiller already looks like a starting college football offensive tackle. And after visiting with Georgia this past weekend Hiller finally earned himself an offer from Kirby Smart and his staff.
It may seem a bit early to offer a 2027 recruit (and it is in many cases), but not with Hiller. Georgia has actually been a bit slow to offer a scholarship to Hiller compared to other top SEC rival programs.
Alabama, South Carolina, and Texas A&M have all been in on Hiller’s recruitment for months now. South Carolina just hosted him for a visit, and both Alabama and Texas A&M are expecting to get Hiller on campus sometime soon as well.
Gunner Stockton will likely be gone by the time Maxwell Hiller is protecting along the offensive line, but Ryan Puglisi and the quarterback to follow both potential 2025 starting quarterback options will need some big bodies to fill big roles up front on offense.
Showing both five star Jared Curtis and the backup plan Bowe Bentley that the team is heavily invested in the offense line multiple years in advance could certainly help Georgia land one or both of those top quarterback prospects in the coming weeks.
It’s still a bit early to call Maxwell’s recruitment in any one direction, but as Georgia looks to retool their offensive line this year and beyond Hiller will become one of the most important names to watch for Bulldogs recruiting.
