There’s no Underwood on the table for LSU this year, but as you would expect, LSU is in the mix for a handful of blue-chip prospects. The Tigers have some ground to make up if they want to add an elite QB to the class, though.
Here are LSU football’s top four quarterback recruiting targets in 2026.
Four-star Jake Fette
Fette committed to Arizona State in 2024, but his recruitment took off in recent months with several top programs jumping in the race, including LSU. According to ESPN, Fette is the No. 3 ranked quarterback in the class. On3 also ranks Fette top five at his position.
Flipping Fette from Arizona State will be tough, but six of the nine quarterbacks with LSU offers are already committed. If the Tigers want to add a top QB to their 2026 class, a flip may be necessary.
LSU will hope to lock in a visit for Fette in the coming months.
Five-star Keisean Henderson
Henderson is another flip candidate, but LSU faces an uphill battle in swinging the Houston commit.
Per On3’s Industry Rankings, Henderson is a five-star and the No. 3 ranked QB in the class. 247Sports and ESPN rank Henderson as the No. 2 passer in the 2026 class. Three of the four major recruiting services list Henderson as the top player in Texas.
Henderson is from Houston. It will take a lot to flip the five-star away from his hometown team, but there’s a chance LSU sets up a visit in the coming months. Until then, don’t take this one too seriously. Still, if there’s any five-star QB that LSU has a chance with in 2026, its Henderson.
Four-star Bowe Bentley
Bentley is one of the top uncommitted prospects left on the board, making him a prime target for LSU. 2024 was his first season as a starter and it led to a breakout on the recruiting trail.
Oklahoma is considered the front runner for the Texas product, but Bentley will visit LSU this month. The Tigers have a chance to gain momentum with the four-star quarterback. Ohio State and Georgia are also in the race.
On3 is the highest on Bentley, ranking him as the No. 9 quarterback in the class and a top 100 overall prospect. Bentley’s recruitment is still open and LSU is sure to make a push over the summer.
Five-star Dia Bell
This is a longshot, but this is recruiting and crazier things have happened. Bell, a five-star, is committed to Texas. But several top programs remain in touch with Bell as they push for a flip. LSU is in that group.
On3’s Industry Rankings slot Bell as the No. 5 quarterback in the class and top recruit in the state of Florida. Despite his Texas commitment, On3’s Industry Rankings have Ohio State as the favorite to land Bell at 19.4% and Penn State in second place, with a 17% chance at Bell’s services.
Bell has made a couple of visits to LSU so far and LSU will hope to see him in Baton Rouge again.
