LSU football recruiting: Four elite 2026 QBs on the Tigers radar

LSU football’s recruitment of five-star Bryce Underwood was a top story of the 2025 recruiting cycle. The No. 1 quarterback in the country was committed to LSU for 10 months before flipping to Michigan a month before national signing day.

When Underwood flipped, LSU was left without a quarterback in its 2025 class. The Tigers added former Mississippi State QB Michael Van Buren through the transfer portal and took three-star Baton Rouge product Emile Picarella as a walk-on. Van Buren is a talented passer and the Picarella addition gives LSU the numbers it needs, but there’s no question the loss of Underwood hurt.

Now, LSU’s attention turns to 2026. Because LSU didn’t take a scholarship quarterback out of high school in 2025, there’s added focus on signing a signal caller in 2026.
