LSU Football’s Will Campbell makes history with NFL Combine performance

Former LSU football left tackle Will Campbell made history with his NFL Combine performance on Sunday, logging one of the best offensive line showings in recent history.

Along with former Missouri offensive lineman Armand Membou, Campbell ran the 40 yard dash in under five seconds and made a vertical jump over 30 inches, making them two of four offensive linemen to do so since 2003. The pair joins 11-time Pro Bowler Trent Williams and four-time Pro Bowler Tristan Wirfs in the category.

Campbell clocked in at 4.98 seconds in the event with a 1.76 10-yard split in the 40-yard dash. He drew a relative athletic score of 9.86, around two-tenths higher than two top-15 offensive linemen taken in last year’s NFL Draft. He got great ratings in the composite score for speed, proving he’s one of the most agile linemen in the class.

The left tackle also recorded elite level jumps with a 32-inch vertical and a nine-foot five inch broad. He cemented his athleticism and ability to move quickly just as he did on the field through three seasons donning the purple and gold.

The Neville, LA native was one of the nation’s top tackles through his three years at LSU. A 2024 consensus All-American, Campbell led a unit recognized as one of college football’s best, particularly in 2023. In that season, the Tigers were the best offense in all of college football and the offensive line was named a finalist for the Joe Moore Award.
