Marc Cucurella reveals feeling inside Chelsea dressing room amid Enzo Maresca admission

Marc Cucurella has revealed a feeling of “frustration” within the Chelsea squad after losing to Ipswich Town on Monday evening.

The Blues were beaten at Portman Road thanks to goals from Liam Delap and Omari Hutchinson either side of half-time. Despite Chelsea having double the amount of shots than their opponents, Ipswich deserved the three points as they inflicted the Blues to back-to-back defeats to end 2024.

Cucurella, who made himself public enemy number one in Ipswich, is keen to put the disappointing results behind them and instead he is focusing on the positives of what has been a strong first half of the season. “It’s frustrating for us, of course,” Cucurella explained after the game at Portman Road.

“It was one of those games where I think we created a lot of chances that we couldn’t take advantage of and unfortunately we conceded two easy goals, from our perspective.

“We are disappointed but we can’t be downhearted, and we must work hard for the next game. This month has been difficult because we have played a lot of games and now, we must look forward and try to get back to winning ways.

“Against Ipswich, we didn’t have the luck with us but this sometimes happens in football. It’s one of those things and I think we just need to focus on the positive aspects and keep working hard.
