Ravens Predicted To Sign Star Receiver in Free Agency

The Baltimore Ravens are so close to winning a Super Bowl. Can signing receiver DeAndre Hopkins put them over the hump?

There are several reasons why playoff heartbreak hurts so bad. The disappointment of a season ending abruptly is one thing, watching another team hoist the trophy is another. But in the back of every fan’s mind, there’s the somber realization that nothing is guaranteed. This might be the best it ever gets.

For the 2024 Baltimore Ravens, January heartbreak has continued a painful cycle of fodder for more successful stories. Quarterback Lamar Jackson, despite his immense talent and unimpeachable resume, is more likely than not to never win a ring. And each crushing playoff defeat increases that likelihood, whispering to fans that the clock is ticking.

For Baltimore, stepping back isn’t an option. It’s full-speed ahead, and anything less than total urgency would be a stain on the front office’s reputation.

“Hopkins is fading, but he’s the type of receiver who could help the Ravens, who have as good a shot as anyone at making the Super Bowl next season,” Henry McKenna wrote. “Hopkins, 32, has made plenty of money. He’s ring chasing. Baltimore should have the right amount of snaps for a receiver like Hopkins, who would play behind Zay Flowers, Mark Andrews, Isaiah Likely and probably Rashod Bateman. And I suspect that would be just fine for Hopkins.”
