Sooners Hold Top Spot After Week Nine
NORMAN – The Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team remained the No. 1 team in the nation for the ninth week in a row with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 197.915 after a strong 197.925 performance over the weekend.
NQS is based on a team’s six best regular season scores, three of which must be away. The overall high score is eliminated, and the five remaining scores are averaged. NQS scores are used to determine seeding for NCAA regional competition.

LSU remained No. 2 with a 197.710, followed by UCLA at No. 3 with a 197.525. Florida (197.480) and Utah (197.465) round out the top five.
The Sooners are ranked No. 1 on all four events with an NQS of 49.445 on vault, 49.540 on bars, 49.480 on beam and 49.570 on floor.
Six athletes combined for 20 individual rankings for week nine, led by Jordan Bowers and Faith Torrez holding rankings on all four events and the all-around.
Bowers is No. 3 in the all-around (49.655), No. 1 on floor (9.960), No. 4 on bars (9.920), No. 6 on beam (9.920) and No. 9 on vault (9.90). Torrez is also No. 3 in the all-around while sitting at No. 1 on vault (9.950), No. 2 on beam (9.940), No. 3 on floor (9.955) and No. 7 on bars (9.915).
Lily Pederson is ranked on a trio of events and in the all-around, coming in at No. 11 in the all-around with a 39.510 NQS. Pederson is No. 9 on both bars (9.910) and beam (9.910) and No. 18 on vault (9.880).
Audrey Davis is No. 10 in the all-around (39.525), No. 2 on bars (9.945) and No. 18 on beam (9.890).
Addison Fatta is ranked on a pair of events at No. 18 on beam (9.890) and No. 20 on bars (9.895). Keira Wells rounds out the ranked Sooners, sitting at No. 12 on vault (9.890).
The Sooners are back at Lloyd Noble Center for the final home meet of the season on Friday, March 7, at 7:15 p.m. CT. The senior class of Bowers, Davis, Danae Fletcher and Danielle Sievers will be honored in a post meet ceremony.
