Steve Kerr Sends Clear Message to NBA After Warriors-Hornets

Despite the win, the game was not without its share of drama. In the third quarter, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr received a technical foul after expressing his frustration with the officials for missing what he deemed a clear traveling violation.

The incident occurred with less than four minutes remaining in the quarter, as LaMelo Ball appeared to travel before passing the ball to Jusuf Nurkic, who then drew a foul on Gui Santos.

“I don’t understand why we are not teaching our officials to call travel in this league,” Kerr said. “They do a great job, they work their tails off, and they communicate well, but I see five or six travels a game that aren’t called.”

The Warriors coach emphasized the importance of footwork in basketball, stating, “Footwork is the basis of the game. We need to call traveling. It’ll be a much better game if we clean it up.”

Kerr pointed out that the issue is not limited to opposing teams, as his own players have also committed uncalled traveling violations.

After reviewing game footage, Kerr noted that the Warriors had four traveling violations in their recent loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, none of which were penalized.

The veteran coach’s message to the NBA was clear: Enforcing traveling violations is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the game.
