Texas football DB Jahdae Barron trolls Oklahoma with post showing on-campus visit
Texas football defensive back Jahdae Barron’s final year in college proved incredibly fruitful. He won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation’s best defensive back, became a projected first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft and importantly, helped Texas to a win over Oklahoma, its eternal rival.
As his college career comes to a close, Barron decided to troll Sooners fans one last time. He posted a picture on social media with the Thorpe Award in front of the Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, upsetting the Oklahoma faithful. Denver Broncos and former Oklahoma defensive end Nik Bonitto was dismayed,
“Ain’t no way y’all let him make it out of Norman,” He said with a laughing emoji.
Barron starred at Connally High School in Austin before joining the Longhorns in 2020. Texas coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff turned him into a full-time starter by his redshirt sophomore season; since 2022, Barron has 206 total tackles, 18½ tackles for a loss, 28 pass breakups and eight interceptions.
The defensive back showed incredible versatility across his career before transitioning into full-time cornerback duties in his fifth season. At the NFL combine, he raised eyebrows with an elite time of 4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash, which tied for fifth-fastest among cornerbacks.
