The HC of the Tennessee Titans may have alluded to Dan Moore’s signing.
The Tennessee Titans have made a significant move in free agency by agreeing to a four-year, $82 million contract with former Pittsburgh Steelers left tackle Dan Moore Jr., which includes $50 million guaranteed and $30 million in the first year.
Moore, 26, was a fourth-round pick in 2021 out of Texas A&M by the Steelers. The 6-foot-5, 315-pound lineman has been a durable and consistent presence, starting all 66 games he’s played, including all 17 last season.
The Titans allowed 52 sacks in the 2024 season, tied for fifth-most in the NFL. With a new quarterback likely starting in 2025, the team has decided to invest heavily in upgrading the offensive line to provide better protection.
With Moore at left tackle, the Titans are expected to shift second-year lineman JC Latham to right tackle. Latham was selected by the Titans with the seventh overall pick in last year’s draft after a stellar college career as Alabama’s right tackle.
Titans coach Brian Callahan hinted at the possibility of moving Latham back to right tackle at the NFL scouting combine last month, suggesting that the team was considering changes to improve their offensive line.
Moore’s new average annual value of $20.5 million ties him as the eighth-highest paid left tackle in the NFL, according to Over The Cap. His addition is expected to provide a significant boost to the Titans’ offensive line, offering improved protection for the quarterback and enhancing the team’s overall offensive performance.
The Titans hold the No. 1 pick in the April draft and have a new general manager in Mike Borgonzi. The team is expected to focus on further strengthening their roster to improve upon their 3-14 record from the previous season.
