Two Tigers with SEC monthly honors for March

AUBURN, Ala. – Sophomore Avery Glynn and junior Alexia Tordoff added to their lists of accolades this month as both were named SEC Riders of the Month for March by the Southeastern Conference Thursday.

Glynn was recognized for her efforts in Fences to add to her National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) honor announced Wednesday. Tordoff, who was named the NCEA Rider of the Month in Horsemanship, was recognized by the SEC for both Horsemanship and Reining.

Tordoff, of Powell, Ohio, put an exclamation on an outstanding regular season in Horsemanship with three wins and one MOP in March. She improved to 13-1-0 on the year in the event and averaged a 76 over three meets. In addition, she went 2-1-0 in Reining in March with two MOPs.

She kicked off March with a 75.5-68 Horsemanship victory at home vs. No. 7 Georgia (3/1) and added a 73-68.5 win in Reining against the Auburn rival. With her help, the Tigers put together an 8-2 mark in Western action vs. the Bulldogs.

She followed with two big wins on the road at No. 2 SMU (3/7), besting her Horsemanship opponent 75-73.75. She added a 72-70.5 win in Reining, picking up another MOP.

Tordoff closed out her regular season with another win on the road at No. 4 Texas A&M (3/8). She edged her opponent, 77.5-77, winning MOP and helping the team top the Aggies in the event, 3-2.

Glynn, of Petaluma, California, put together a perfect mark in Fences in March, going 3-0-0 with two MOPs in the event to improve to 11-0-0 overall for the season, including two wins over SEC opponents.

She led off with an 87-65 win at home vs. Georgia, downing her opponent by 22 points and winning MOP. She followed with a huge ride on the road at SMU, scoring a 90 to beat her Mustang opponent by 51 points and taking MOP.

Glynn capped the regular season with another road win, defeating her Texas A&M opponent, 86-73.5, and helped the Tigers go 4-1 in the event.
