Alabama Arranges A Top College Football Recruit’s Summer Visit

After Nick Saban retired, the Alabama Crimson Tide had to make a significant head coaching change at the end of the 2023 season.

Alabama completed its first season under Kalen DeBoer in 2024, and he went 9-4. DeBoer is trying to build for the future through recruiting.

On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported Wednesday that Alabama was among the teams 2026 edge rusher Khamari Brooks would be taking official visits with. He will be in Tuscaloosa this summer from June 6-8.

Brooks is also planning to visit the Georgia Bulldogs (May 30-June 1), Texas Longhorns (June 13-15), and USC Trojans (June 20-22).

Brooks is a four-star edge rusher in the 2026 class. He is the No. 14 edge rusher per the On3 Industry Rankings. He is listed at 6-foot-3, 230 pounds, and a native of Bogart, Georgia.

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine thinks Georgia is the front-runner to land Brooks, giving the Bulldogs a 42.6% chance. Alabama (28.1%) is in second, followed by Texas (12.2%), USC (10.2%) and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (3.,6%).

Alabama’s 2026 class contains three commitments. It features four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson, four-star edge rusher Jamarion Matthews and four-star inside offensive lineman Chris Booker.

The Crimson Tide has prioritized getting to know Brooks throughout the recruiting process, having him visit town on three occasions. This upcoming visit in June will be the fourth time he has been to campus.

He has also visited Georgia, Texas, USC and Georgia Tech.

DeBoer won nine games in year one with the Crimson Tide and lost talent like quarterback Jalen Milroe, tight end CJ Dippre, offensive guard Tyler Booker and linebacker Jihaad Campbell to the 2025 NFL Draft.

Alabama opens the 2025 season against the Florida State Seminoles on Aug. 30.
