Aneesah Morrow, a standout forward for the LSU women’s basketball team, has been honored with the prestigious Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Award, recognizing her as the nation’s top college player.

A Stellar Season at LSU

Since transferring to LSU in May 2023, Morrow has been a pivotal force for the Tigers. Her junior season showcased her versatility and dominance on the court. Notably, on November 12, 2024, she delivered a remarkable performance against Charleston Southern, recording 21 points and 20 rebounds—marking her fourth career 20/20 game and her first with LSU.

Morrow’s impact continued to be profound throughout the season. On January 9, 2025, facing No. 16 Tennessee, she amassed 23 points and 21 rebounds, surpassing the 2,500 career points milestone. This achievement also marked her 90th career double-double, tying her for the third-most in NCAA Division I history. Just days later, on January 13 against Vanderbilt, Morrow recorded 23 points and 15 rebounds, exceeding 1,500 career rebounds and becoming only the eighth player in NCAA history to achieve both 2,500 career points and 1,500 career rebounds.

Recognition and Honors

Morrow’s exceptional performances have not gone unnoticed. She was named the SEC Player of the Week following her milestones in January 2025. Additionally, she has been recognized as a semifinalist for both the Naismith Player of the Year and the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year awards, underscoring her all-around excellence on the court.
