Season series: Bulls lead 1-0, winning 146-115 on the road Saturday

The Lakers ended a 3-game skid in thrilling fashion Wednesday night, edging the Indiana Pacers 120-119 on F LeBron James‘ tip-in at the buzzer. They pulled off the upset as a 1-point road underdog as the Over (234.5) hit. All 5 starters scored in double figures, led by 34 points by G Luka Doncic, who has topped 30 points in 6 of his last 7 games.

The Bulls picked up their third straight win Monday night, taking down the Denver Nuggets 129-119 as a 2.5-point road underdog as the Over (238) hit with ease. G Coby White led all scorers with 37 points, adding 4 assists, 3 rebounds, 2 steals and a block. G Josh Giddey chipped in with 26 points and 9 rebounds.

  • The Bulls are in a great spot to pick up another win Thursday night. The Lakers are on the second night of a back-to-back after a hard-fought road victory Wednesday, while Chicago is well-rested, having not played since Monday. The Bulls wrapped up a long road trip by winning 4 of their last 5 games and have taken 8 of their last 10 overall.

Chicago’s offense has been clicking, averaging 131 points per game (PPG) over the last 4 contests. With the play-in tournament race tightening, every win matters. Meanwhile, the Lakers have leaned heavily on Doncic, who has averaged 31.2 PPG in March, his best month of the season. But defense has been a major issue, allowing 125.2 PPG over their last 4 games.

Giddey has thrived since the Zach LaVine trade, averaging 19.8 PPG and 8.1 rebounds per game (RPG) in February, and has upped that to 22.1 PPG and 9.4 RPG in March. The Bulls have won 3 of their last 4 games at home and should keep rolling Thursday.

    Against the spread

    PASS.

I’ll keep my bet to the moneyline with the plus odds but if you’d rather take the points, that’s understandable.

    Over/Under

    BET OVER 239.5 (-110).

The Over has been hitting in this matchup, cashing in 8 of the last 10 meetings. It’s also hit in 8 of the Lakers’ last 10 games and in 4 straight Bulls’ games. Chicago is scoring at will, and Los Angeles isn’t stopping anyone. Expect another high-scoring game—take the Over.
