Jadon Sancho shows true colours as Man Utd fired clear message after shock Chelsea transfer

Jadon Sancho has explained why he’s so happy at Stamford Bridge following Chelsea’s clash against Crystal Palace. The 24-year-old winger, who joined the Blues on loan from Manchester United late into the summer transfer window, played a crucial role in the 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.

After pulling off an excellent trick to deceive Chris Richards, Sancho teed up Cole Palmer, who fired Chelsea ahead. Despite the England international’s best efforts, Oliver Glasner’s side netted a late equaliser, with Jean-Philippe Mateta beating Robert Sanchez from close range.

While the west Londoners only managed to win a point, Sancho caught the eye. Speaking to the club’s official website after the game, he reflected on the result and why he’s settled in so quickly after a rough time at Manchester United.

“It’s frustrating not to get the three points,” said Sancho. “We played quite well and I feel like we controlled most of the game. One mistake cost us a goal. Other than that, we have to be more clinical in front of goal.

“We created so many chances and it’s frustrating not to get another goal to kill the game. We work on the training ground to give Nico [Jackson], Cole, Pedro [Neto] and me the opportunities to get shots on goal.”We created good chances, we just have to be more clinical. If you don’t take your chances in the Premier League, it’s never over until the last minute. We’re still playing the same football, and we’re still giving 100 per cent. It’s football, we have to learn from it and move on.

“Sancho added: “I’ve felt really good since day one, the coach and the players have welcomed me and that’s all I can ask for. I’m taking it day by day and game by game. I’m very happy with my football. I just have to keep showing 100 per cent on the pitch.”

Chelsea signed the winger from United on a season-long loan, which, football.london understands, includes an obligation-to-buy. The Blues were long admirers of Sancho, who established himself as one of the most exciting young players in Europe during his time in the Manchester City youth setup.

He’s hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge, and his strong feelings for the club come as no surprise. In an interview with the official Chelsea website upon his arrival, Sancho said: “London is where I grew up, and I’m happy to be back.”Chelsea is iconic. My idols growing up were Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard and now I have the opportunity to play for this club like them. It’s a great feeling.”
